COMMERCIAL BUILDING SURVEY AND STRUCTURAL SURVEY – L13 1FA
A car crashed through the front of Boots, Edge Lane Retail Park Liverpool. This resulted in the store being closed for 48 hours costing over £250,00 in lost revenue. Initially we were appointed to carry out a Commercial Building Survey, followed by structural recommendations. We then supervised the work and performed structural surveys to allow the store to reopen safely as part of our Built Asset Consultancy service.

Following a Damp and Timber Survey work was identified to a rotten timber beam supporting the bay window and roof. A specification of work was drawn up and the work was project managed, including structural calculation and all work was signed off by the Local Council Building Control.

Is a Level 3 survey structural?The RICS Home Survey Level 3 has often been previously referred to as a “full structural survey” or “building survey”. The report can be on an RICS Home Survey Level 3 template or can be to the surveyor's bespoke design. Level 3 reports are conducted by Building Surveyors. Whilst the structure is reported upon, it does not necessarily provide a detailed investigation of structural issues such as subsidence or cracking which usually requires intrusive investigation. In which case you may need a Structural Inspection.
