REFLECTED CEILING PLAN SURVEYS
Reflected Ceiling Plan Surveys record the layout of ceilings and visible overhead features to support interior design, fit-out, services coordination and refurbishment. AMS Surveys can include reflected ceiling plans within a wider measured building survey or commission them as a targeted output where the project requires accurate positions of ceiling changes, lighting, grilles, bulkheads and other visible features.
LASER SCAN SURVEYS WHAT YOU GET
Our Measured Building Surveys can include:
-
Floor plans and layout drawings
-
External and internal elevations
-
Cross sections
-
Roof plans
-
Reflected ceiling plans
-
CAD drawings (DWG format)
-
Point cloud data
-
3D BIM models, including Revit outputs where required
All outputs are tailored to your project requirements, whether for planning, design, refurbishment or commercial use.
TYPICAL PROJECTS AND APPLICATIONS
Reflected Ceiling Plan Surveys are commonly commissioned for projects such as:
Commercial office and retail fit-outs
Hospitality, education and public building refurbishment
Interior architecture and workplace redesign
Projects coordinating new lighting, ventilation or ceiling systems
Buildings with complex suspended ceilings, bulkheads or changes in level
Existing spaces where reliable reflected ceiling drawings are not available
For a broader existing-building package, see Measured Building Surveys. Related AMS Surveys services can be coordinated where the project also requires design, condition or heritage input.

COMMON OUTPUTS PROVIDED
Depending on the agreed scope, AMS Surveys can provide:
Reflected ceiling plans in DWG format
PDF ceiling plans at the agreed scale
Ceiling perimeter, bulkheads and changes in level where within scope
Visible lighting, grilles and ceiling-mounted items where specified
Ceiling heights and soffit levels where required
Point cloud data or Revit model information where part of a wider survey

ABOUT REFLECTED CEILING PLAN SURVEYS
A reflected ceiling plan is drawn as though the ceiling were reflected onto a horizontal plane. It is used by architects, interior designers, MEP consultants and contractors to coordinate overhead elements that are not shown clearly on a conventional floor plan. Because the required level of detail can vary significantly, the brief should identify which fixtures and services need to be recorded. AMS Surveys can capture the ceiling geometry alongside the rest of the building, helping reduce duplicated site visits where floor plans, sections and ceiling information are all required.
